Anime Icon Sazae-san Set for Historic Arcade Debut with 'Spot the Difference' Game

A significant development for fans of Japan's long-running animated series is approaching, as the beloved 'Sazae-san' is set to enter the arcade gaming sector. Konami, in collaboration with ADK Emotions, has announced 'Sazae-san Machigai Sagashi' (Sazae-san Spot the Difference), the franchise's first arcade game, scheduled for release in spring 2026. This title aims to bring the anime's characteristics to arcade cabinets, offering players a spot-the-difference experience.
The game will utilize 'Sazae-san's extensive episode library, presenting players with scenes and questions that test observational skills across three difficulty levels: easy, normal, and difficult.
To enhance replayability, 'Sazae-san Machigai Sagashi' will include three gameplay modes. Solo players can engage in Normal Mode, while those seeking competition can play against a friend in the two-player Versus Mode. Challenge Mode offers progressively difficult stages for advanced players.

This initiative represents an expansion for the 'Sazae-san' franchise, highlighting its cultural influence and consistent popularity in Japan and internationally.
The public will have an initial opportunity to experience the game at the 'AMUSEMENT EXPO 2025.' Konami's Arcade Games booth at Tokyo Big Sight will host the debut on November 14 and 15. Attendees who try the game on November 15 will receive an exclusive original sticker related to the game.
'Sazae-san,' which began as a manga by Machiko Hasegawa serialized from 1946 to 1974, transitioned to television in 1969. It has since become a cultural fixture, recently celebrating its 55th anniversary and holding the Guinness World Record for the longest-running TV anime series. The introduction of this arcade game acknowledges the series' legacy and introduces it to new gaming audiences, aligning with Konami's strategy for diversifying arcade entertainment with culturally relevant properties.
