Maki Kawase Joins 'Botan Kamiina Fully Blossoms When Drunk' Anime Cast, New Character Visuals Revealed

The anime adaptation of Hey and Sowane's yuri manga, Botan Kamiina Fully Blossoms When Drunk, has announced a new cast member. Voice actress Maki Kawase will portray Chang Chin-lan, a pivotal character introduced partway through the story. This announcement was accompanied by a new character visual and a trailer, offering a preview of Chin-lan's personality as a straightforward Taiwanese student.
About the Series
Set in Chichibu, Saitama, the series follows Botan Kamiina, a 20-year-old college freshman. Her exploration of adult beverages begins after an encounter with her dorm leader, Ibuki Tonami. As Botan engages with this new interest, she strengthens friendships and experiences personal growth, depicted through the manga's artistic style.

Studio Soigne, known for their work on mono, is producing the adaptation, which is scheduled for a spring 2026 premiere. The production team includes Takashi Sakuma as director, Ko Yoshinari handling character designs, and Yoko Yonaiyama overseeing series composition.
The voice cast features Sayumi Suzushiro as Botan Kamiina, Yoshino Aoyama as Ibuki Tonami, Minako Kotobuki as Kanade Gujo, Yurina Amami as Akane Yusa, and Miyu Tomita as Yaeka Kitamori.
The original manga has been serialized since 2019 on Akita Shoten's Champion Cross web platform. Its seventh volume is set for release in October 2025.
Maki Kawase expressed her enthusiasm for portraying Chin-lan, stating her commitment to conveying the series' world and her anticipation of discovering new drinks alongside the audience.
