"Kanagawa ni Sunderu Elf" Anime Adaptation Unveils Striking New Visual, Expands Cast, Confirms December 4 Premiere

Fans of the fantasy-comedy manga Kanagawa ni Sunderu Elf are anticipating its light anime adaptation. Micro Magazine's series has unveiled a new key visual, offering a glimpse into the world of elves in Japan's Kanagawa Prefecture. An expanded voice cast has also been announced, with a confirmed premiere date of December 4, 2025.

Series Background and Local Connection

Originally launched in 2020 on Comic Elmo, Yoroida's Kanagawa ni Sunderu Elf gained readership with its premise of mythical elves living ordinary lives in the Kanagawa region. With five manga volumes published, the series has a dedicated following. The upcoming anime will debut as a segment of TV Kanagawa's local midday news and variety program, Neko no Hitai Hodo Wide, connecting it to its narrative's setting.

New Visual and Expanded Voice Cast

The newly released visual, created by original manga author Yoroida, reflects the blend of fantasy and everyday charm in the series. It suggests an adaptation that maintains the manga's themes of resilience and adaptation. The expanded voice cast includes Kōtarō Nishiyama as the Fairy and narrator Yōsei-san, Yūsuke Nagano as the Elf from Yokosuka, Yūki Inoue as the Elf from Sagamihara, and Gō Fujii as the Orc from Machida. These additions join previously announced leads, Chiaki Kobayashi as the Elf from Yokohama and Yu Hayashi as the Human from Kawasaki, both from Kanagawa Prefecture.

Under the direction of Yuji Umoto, known for SHIBUYA♡HACHI, the light anime is a collaboration between IMAGICA Infos and Imageworks Studio. Taeko Miura is the sound director, and Shin Kawamoto composes the musical score. Kazuya Takahashi supervises overall production, with Usagiou contributing to animation. This anime follows a live-action drama adaptation, which premiered on September 30, 2025, within the same local Kanagawa programming block.

As December approaches, fantasy and comedy enthusiasts can expect an anime that combines whimsical elements with a local cultural flavor.
