Anticipation is high for the anime adaptation of the josei manga, Kirio Fan Club. A teaser trailer and key visual have been released, confirming a 2026 premiere. This adaptation promises a blend of romantic comedy and slice-of-life elements.
Satelight is producing the series, with So Toyama, known for Mirage Queen Prefers Circus, directing. Aya Satsuki is responsible for the script, and Nami Hayashi, who also created the manga's cover art, is designing the characters.
The main cast includes Nene Hieda as Aimi Miyoshi, Shion Wakayama as Nami Sometani, and Gakuto Kajiwara as Ken Kirio. These actors are set to bring the narrative, originally created by Chikyu No Osakana Ponchan, to life with their performances.
Kirio Fan Club explores the relationship between two friends, Aimi and Nami, who find themselves as romantic rivals due to their shared affection for Ken Kirio. The series combines humor with heartfelt moments, addressing themes of friendship, unrequited love, and the experiences of youth. A distinctive premise, centered on a unique trait of Kirio, adds to the series' originality.
The original manga, a six-volume series, was serialized online from June 2022 to August 2024. An English release by Kodansha USA Publishing is scheduled for Spring 2026, indicating its growing international reach.

The recently unveiled teaser visual captures the youthful energy and emotional depth of the characters, offering a preview of the dynamics viewers can expect. With a strong production committee and an experienced animation team, a faithful and engaging adaptation is anticipated. This romantic comedy is expected to offer a refreshing mix of humor and romance, infused with a josei sensibility, positioning it as a notable title for the 2026 anime calendar.
