Kaiju No. 8 anime was announced today with big updates. Staff confirmed a conclusion arc adaptation is coming. They also revealed a new original short will be produced. The short is called Narumi's Weekday and these additions extend the Kafka Hibino saga. The Defense Force continues fighting monsters and the conclusion arc adapts the final storyline.

This is based on Naoya Matsumoto's manga which runs in Shonen Jump+. High-stakes action is expected with emotional depth for fans awaiting resolution in the story. The new short focuses specifically on Gen Narumi. Narumi is the First Division captain and Koki Uchiyama voices Narumi in the anime. New art was shown for Narumi, showing him looking dynamic before Season 2 begins.

The short explores slice-of-life elements amid the chaos of the series. This is similar to the earlier special Hoshina's Day Off which aired July 5, 2025. Season 2 is set to simulcast in summer 2025 on Crunchyroll.

Shigeyuki Miya and Tomomi Kamiya are directing the series at Production I.G. Ichiro Okouchi handles series composition for the anime. Tetsuya Nishio is doing the character designs and Mahiro Maeda handles the kaiju designs. Animation remains fluid for the production.

Shueisha serializes the manga in Japan. Viz Media handles the English licensing for the manga. Kaiju No. 8 mixes intense battles with strong character narratives and this solidifies its shonen status. Fans expect these releases to generate hype after Season 2 premieres and the franchise legacy must endure.
