The second season for the baseball anime Oblivion Battery was announced today. A new teaser visual was shown and the premiere date confirmed for 2027. This news was revealed during the Jump Festa '26 event on December 20, 2025, and came through a special video presentation. The visual was presented showing key characters.

This builds excitement for the continuation of Eko Mikawa's manga. Serialization started on Shueisha's Shōnen Jump+ back in 2018. The first season ran from April through July 2024 and MAPPA handled the production of that first run. It is streaming now on Crunchyroll for fans who need to catch up.

The story focuses on the genius middle school battery duo, Haruka Kiyomine and Kei Kaname. They were feared across the league previously and now they reunite at Kotesashi High School. The school had no baseball club established, and this happened after Kei suffered amnesia and quit the sport entirely. They are joined by other former prodigies, Taro Yamada, Aoi Todo, and Shunpei Chihaya. These players were crushed by the duo before, and now they revive their passion for the game itself.

Makoto Nakazono directed the first season, and he also worked on major titles like Chainsaw Man and Jujutsu Kaisen. Series scripts were handled by Michiko Yokote with character designs by Hitomi Hasegawa. The voice cast is solid with Toshiki Masuda voicing Haruka Kiyomine and Mamoru Miyano as Kei Kaname. Yōhei Azakami plays Aoi Todo and Yūki Kaji voices Taro Yamada.
